I am intrigued by the idea of “beautiful messes!”  

  Bold yet soft, layers of paint and collage build up a surface.  I am inspired by the unexpected beauty and juxtaposition that is created by the tension of industry within nature…  beautiful tarred designs on asphalt, cracks in the pavement with eager flowers shooting up…. a sole neon pink windsock among hundreds of grey spouting smokestacks.  Discovering the beauty in imperfection.

My sense of self is reflected in the quiet intensity of this conversation.    

My best painting happens spontaneously when I am trusting the process of responding to each movement without thought or the confines of ego.  This continual inner dialog in “confidence and doubt” or “joy and frustration” is infused into each painting and resembles a unique expression of my inner world!
